Week 10 - October 15- October 19

Happy Friday Families! We had a very fun final week of Quarter 1. Thank you so much for the special "shower" day today! Jay and I had so much fun!

Spalding:
There will be no new phonograms this week, we will however spend our time reviewing phonograms 1-26. The phonograms that will be tested are those your child practices on their nightly homework.

Sight Words:
We will spend another week reviewing the words on list one. A fun way to do this is to put the sight word somewhere around your house, when your child sees it, they have to give it a high five and say the word. We have been doing this as we enter the classroom each day.

Literature
We will be reading the African Trickster tale, How Many Spots Does a Leopard Have?  This is a fun story about animals guessing how many spots there really are. To go with our farm unit in science we will compare animals found in this story vs. animals found on a farm. Our Poem will be "Ride a Cockhorse".

Math-
This week we will start our unit on shapes, focusing on shapes that are 2D. We will look at squares, triangles, circles, and rectangles. Students will identify the shapes by attribute and look for shapes in every day objects.

No History or Science this week.

Week 9 fun!
Sloane won our virtue of the month award for September! Thank you
Sloane for being a beautiful example of citizenship!
